Behind the name - Barosi
Childhood holds a special place in our hearts, doesn’t it? It was the moment we got back from school, greeted by Maa with a glassful of milk straight out of a clay pot, which was kept in a barosi.
Barosi is a small pit dug on the ground lined with wooden pieces and cow dung cakes for heating the clay pot on a very low flame. This is where the clay pot would sit for hours in the simmering flame, infusing the milk with an amazingly earthy aroma. We would savor the milk instantly, enjoying every sip. That aroma, that taste - it’s something we can still feel, even today.
This cherished memory is what gave birth to our brand - Barosi, A Postcard from Bharat - inspired by the earthy, calm, and simple essence of Bharat.
